Our client is a boutique hedge fund who are actively seeking candidates from Private Equity or M&A Investment Banks, who are now looking to explore career opportunities in Public Equities.
The group oversee $500mn in managed assets and invest within a universe of Internet and Technology equities.
This position represents an excellent opportunity for candidates with a natural inclination, curiosity, and passion for public markets who are interested in pivoting away from M&A banking or Private Equity.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth financial modelling and valuation analysis to evaluate investment opportunities in the technology and internet sectors.
Develop detailed investment theses, focusing on both long and short ideas, with a particular emphasis on short-side opportunities.
Stay abreast of market trends and industry developments to identify new opportunities and risks.
Collaborate with senior analysts and portfolio managers to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Prepare high-quality research reports, presentations, and other materials to support investment decisions.
Requirements: 3-7 years of professional experience, ideally with 2-3 years in M&A banking or Private Equity.
Buy-side experience is not required but is a plus.
Strong technical skills, with proven expertise in financial modelling and valuations.
A passion for public equities, with a strong natural inclination to investing and a solid understanding of equity markets with an eagerness to transition to a L/S role.
Curious, analytical and driven – with a particular interest in short-side strategies.
Knowledge of the Internet and Technology verticals would be highly advantageous, but is not strictly required.
