BUSINESS UNIT The Employment Law Group (ELG) provides legal support to all divisions across the firm. ELG is responsible for all employment-related litigation and non-contentious advice. Working closely with the Human Capital Management (HCM) Division, ELG provides advice and strategic input to the handling of employee relations matters as well as providing support and advice in relation to the firm's risk, benefits, and mobility programs, diversity, recruitment, acquisitions, and divestitures.
YOUR IMPACT ELG EMEA is looking for a senior lawyer (7 years+ PQE) who has UK and EU incentives and remuneration regulation experience. You are either a mainstream employment lawyer or a specialist incentives lawyer with UK and EU incentives and remuneration regulation experience who is interested in broadening their practice into mainstream employment work. RESPONSIBILITIES Specialist Responsibilities: Strategic and technical advice on EMEA remuneration regulationAdvising on the design and development of new inventive and reward structures in light of applicable EMEA law and financial services regulationCollaborating with members of HCM leadership and advising them on Board Remuneration Committee materials and remuneration governancePresenting to the Board Remuneration Committees across EMEAAdvising on and assisting with maintaining excellent regulatory relationshipsGeneralist Responsibilities: Contributing to the broader ELG practice, advising on employment-related disputes and litigation, whistleblowing investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances, or advising on Diversity Equity & Inclusion Programs, HCM policy development, or the employment aspects of Goldman Sachs corporate transactions.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 7 years+ PQEUK and EU incentives and remuneration regulation experienceExcellent organizational, communication, and presentational skills (oral and written)Excellent interpersonal skills: An ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant business groups; ability to work collaboratively with a diverse teamA commitment to excellence; highly motivated and proactive; ability to respond calmly and creatively in a fast-paced environmentExcellent judgment and ability to assess risks; keen business acumenABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS At Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital, and ideas to help our clients, shareholders, and the communities we serve to grow.
