Job descriptionDevelop products in a timely manner, working on agreed technical projects either as a team member or as the project leader, in support of the Sales or Production functions.
Undertake product testing & modification as required, to meet specified requirements according to national or European standards.
Evaluate alternative raw materials, reporting the work accordinglySupport the Quality Control department as required, through specified QC / QA tests for raw materials, Fosroc finished products and re-validation of materials.
Provide technical support at site if required Represent the company at technical associations Responsible for aspects of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) in assigned areas.
Author product safety datasheets using GHS Pro softwareResponsibilitiesImprove the delivery of new products which increase trading profitUndertake independent and in house product testing to prove product datasheet claimsAssist with new raw materials and finished goods approval (according to company guidelines) to support the supply chain and generate savings to the bottom lineLaboratory maintenance including HSE.Skills requiredEssential:Good communication skills both written and verbal.Highly motivated, enthusiasticWillingness to be hands onGood practical skills DesirableKnowledge of materials technologies particularly cement; epoxy; PU and acrylicAble to prioritise and deliver products based on business / commercial requirements.Proactive and flexible attitude with ability to work in different teamsWillingness to travel as required in UK and abroad, if requiredEducational requirementsEssentialChemistry, Materials Science degree or equivalentJob role notesNote: Applicant must have the Right to Work in the UKWorking hours: 37 working hours per week.
Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 4:30pm with a one hour unpaid break each day and Friday 08:00 to 3:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break.
Note: Laboratory environment, processes can produce dust, vapour and fume.
PPE will be provided in accordance with task requirements.
