This is an exciting opportunity to work with editors around the globe, playing a key role in shaping the content that Time Out covers as well as developing long-term strategies around search.
If you're obsessed with optimising content to get it ranking in SERPs, can predict and react to rising trends, know how to spot a story for Google Discover and love to delve into analytics, read on.
Whether you're auditing evergreen content, pitching daily news to target Top Stories or offering best practice guidance, you'll be motivated by data and audience growth.
You mustn't be intimidated by a spreadsheet and should have some understanding of technical SEO.
Above all else, you'll be focused on helping grow Time Out's search audience globally, which means planning content updates for each editorial team, tracking performance closely, reacting quickly to trends by suggesting stories and advising on how to rework those that have the potential to do better.
You'll be meticulous with forward planning, constantly sharpening your sense of what content works best and trying new formats out.
Responsibilities Work closely with the Head of SEO to plan content updates for editorial teams globally, anticipating surges in interest around seasonal topics and themes.
Carry out keyword research and monitor search trends using tools such as Google Trends and Semrush to ensure we are targeting the best content opportunities.
Optimise and nurture existing site content while pitching new curated lists and news posts to address fresh opportunities.
Use analytics such as Google Search Console and Google Analytics to shape search strategy, as well as informing editors on their section's performance with daily reporting and recommendations to help teams hit (and exceed!)
monthly goals.
Stay up to date with best practices in search, actively sharing knowledge and insights with editorial teams when required.
Support Head of SEO in identifying on-site technical improvements in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to boost performance.
Skills: Knowledge of organic search, Google News, Google Discover, Top Stories, and some understanding of technical SEO.
Proficiency in using tools to optimise content, including Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Trends and Semrush.
Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with editors worldwide.
Meticulous organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously, owning projects from start to finish.
Proactive in developing SEO skills and staying on top of industry trends.
