Investigative Support Officer Rugby, Warwickshire Permanent   Part Time (18.5 hours)   Salary £14,554.50 - £15,648.00   The closing date for this post is 12 noon on 12th November 2024 Those currently eligible on the redeployment register will be given prior consideration.
The main purpose of the role is to Operate and supervise the use of the Home Office Large Major Enquiry System (HOLMES) and assist with the creation and management of exhibits.
Main Responsibilities: Provide HOLMES indexing services and other associated roles to major crime enquiries within the Major Incident Room as described in the MIRSAP Manual.
Support the SIO and OIC in the preparation of case papers for all HOLMES based investigations.
Identifying all documents of relevance for the enquiry and ensuring no opportunities for evidence are missed.
Provide advice and support to colleagues relating to all aspects of the use of HOLMES within investigations.
Manage the exhibits recording system and support the Exhibits Officer, by preserving the integrity of exhibits, ensuring that they are logged, tracked and stored in accordance with agreed protocols.
Carry out the specific role of Researcher within a Casualty Bureau as defined by the Casualty Bureau Standardised Administrative Procedures (CBSAP).
Research and Interrogate systems in accordance with the SIO and other supervisors' instructions and present results accordingly.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Knowledge: 5 GCSE's or equivalent, grade C or above including English Language.
Knowledge of MIRSAP and CBSAP.
Experience: Essential to have knowledge and experience of police procedures and investigations, particularly within a Major Incident Room.
Key Skills:   IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office packages with excellent keyboard skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.

Skills in research and analysis methods.
Act with complete discretion and treat all material and information with absolute confidentiality.
Flexibility in order to support the Department during major enquiries.
Special Conditions Regular travel throughout Warwickshire.
The post holder will be required to work out of an assigned incident room in any part of the Warwickshire policing area.
The duties of this post involve exposure to disturbing/unpleasant images or tasks (e.g.
Scene photographs, victim/suspect interviews, witness statements).
Post holder will be required to successfully complete the Holmes indexers and exhibits courses; the Casualty Bureau Nominal Matching unit course and Exhibits handling course.
