Job Details Job Title: Intelligence Operator - HC619326 Location: Vickery Building, Netley - May be required to work at other sites within Hampshire and IOW Constabulary on occasions Salary: Scale 6, £32,247 - £34,329 Per Annum Plus 20% shift allowance and a weekend enhancement Hours: 37.00 Per Week Contract: Permanent Closing Date: Sunday 8th December at 23:59 Hours About the role Your role will be to provide dynamic 24/7 intelligence research and support to officers and staff throughout the force.
This is a critical and very unique role which requires the ability to multitask and to work with risk .
You need to be an effective decision maker and an excellent communicator.
This role is challenging, mentally simulating and very rewarding.
Responsibilities will be but not limited to: 1.
To identify and deal with any threat, risk or harm around intelligence for crime in action and critical incidents, ensuring full and continuous engagement with the Senior Investigating Officer.
2.
Identify and ensure the force is aware of significant crimes and incidents and emerging threats.
3.
To be conversant with intelligence processes including a good understanding of handling codes and source protection.
4.
To act as force expert for a number of databases, undertaking specialist searches, in line with force priorities, to support proactive and reactive operations.
5.
To maintain all information held on data systems including PNC and ANPR in a timely and accurate fashion and in compliance with current legislation, force policy, Data Protection Act and the PNC statutory Code of Practice, ensuring the integrity of the National Systems is maintained at all times in line with local and national protocols.
6.
To maintain effective liaison with internal and external departments and agencies, utilising the full range of communication methods available, including dealing with all intelligence requests and submission by way of the Force Gateway.
7.
To identify, develop and action high priority intelligence, creating briefing slides and escalating where necessary.

Essential Qualifications Educated to QCF Level 3 OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
Proven keyboard skills.
Essential Experience 1.
Ability to interrogate and analyse a broad range of information systems in order to assess risk and gather relevant supporting data.
2.
To be able to work on own initiative.
3.
Experience of working under pressure.
4.
Experience of customer service, including handling sensitive matters.
5.
To be computer literate.
6.
Maintaining, updating and monitoring complex computerised systems.
7.
Experience of high volume data entry and retrieval.
8.
Proven administrative experience, using a variety of manual and computerised information systems.
