Contract: Permanent, Full time Salary: up to £40,000 At Solstice we supply Londons top Restaurants, Hotels, Bars & Catering Companies with fresh seasonal produce 6-days a week.
We are looking to recruit a Hygiene Manager who will effectively manage the Hygiene Team, ensuring that hygiene standards in the factory are maintained and developed to the required high standard.
This is a night position, so you will be responsible for leading and driving standards of Hygiene, Health and Safety and Technical requirements to ensure that the business and customer standards are kept, and that audit requirements are fully met.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week: 5 over 7 shift pattern; 21:30 to 06:00 (9.30pm 6am) A flexible approach to hours will be required as there may be occasion when it is necessary to work additional hours as dictated by the workload and engagement activities.
The Hygiene Managers responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Management and recruitment of Hygiene Team; currently a team of 5 working night shifts.
Manage working patterns and rotas to maintain sufficient Hygiene resource across all departments and shifts, ensuring cover for holidays and absences.
Drive and implement improvement in factory and office hygiene standards, and Hygiene Team performance, effectiveness and efficiency.
Develop the hygiene improvement plan and strategy for the next 12 months.
Lead and mentor the Hygiene team, driving performance and encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
Own Hygiene Team training and development, including H&S, food safety and cleaning procedures.
Regularly review the cleaning schedules to ensure they are kept up to date and sufficient for maintaining standard.
Ensure all hygiene related records are completed and up to date.
Support in maintaining and updating training matrix for hygiene team members.
Support Technical Department in microbiological-related investigations.
Carry out audits and swabbing as required to verify effectiveness of cleaning activities.
Support Technical Department in preparing cleaning cards, cleaning schedules and strip off procedures.
Involvement in site preparation for BRCGS audit and customer audits.
Manage hygiene equipment, consumables, and chemicals, ensuring proper storage and usage.
Daily chemical dilution checks.
To be successful in your application, you will be able to demonstrate experience of: Qualified COSHH, Food Safety Level 2 and HACCP Level 2.
Significant experience in hygiene supervision or management role within the food manufacturing, preferably high care or high risk.
Proficiency in Microsoft office.
Strong people leadership and communication skills.
A logical and clear-thinking approach especially under pressure.
