About GBRX

We are seeking a Health and Safety Manager to provide professional health and safety advice in compliance with company standards and procedures. This hybrid role offers a balance of regular in-office collaboration with remote work, encouraging flexibility while enabling you to work closely with our diverse team.
Brief Description

To provide professional health and safety advice and support to teams, coordinate the relevant business activities, and facilitate compliance with the Network Rail (High Speed) Health and Safety Management System and all relevant legal, industry, and company standards.
About the role (External) Key Accountabilities Provide functional support, guidance, and professional expertise to the teams on all health and safety matters to deliver successful execution of the programme or works.Work directly with the teams providing health and safety direction by leading the HSEA specialist aligned to the team (where applicable).Lead/Direct periodic meetings with the contracting organisations to share and promulgate best practices and lessons learned.Provide support to the teams on inspection and monitoring of the safety and environmental performance of projects.Work with teams to determine practical and deliverable measures to improve health & safety performance.Support teams in the investigation of accidents and incidents and in the implementation of resulting recommendations.Provide the single point of contact with HMRI and other health and safety organisations for day-to-day site health and safety.Coordinate the health & safety activities of the programme and maintain effective liaison with other Regions, Programmes, and Major Projects.Essential Qualifications and Experience

NEBOSH Construction certificate
NEBOSH Tech SP certificate
Significant experience in the successful management of HSEA issues on major programmes of work in the construction and/or rail industries.
Project Safety Management course.
Desirable Qualifications

Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level.
NEBOSH diploma, IEMA certificate.
An experienced Health and Safety or Environment practitioner.
Knowledge of Behavioural Change techniques.
Knowledge of Network Rail's systems and processes, working knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards applicable to contractor safety.
