Are you a motivated Health, Safety and Environmental Lead looking for a new role?
You will need to have previous experience in the rail industry in a similar role and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for improving HSE standards.
This is a great opportunity to join a global company who specialise in manufacturing within the rail industry.
This is a multi-site role and you will be expected to travel to depots across the UK and Europe.
Due to the nature of the position a flexible approach to work will be required.
You will take a hands on approach to deliver effective health, safety and environmental support and advice across the business and promote a safety first culture.
Taking the lead on training and coaching, reporting and investigating serious incidents and focusing on continuous improvement to the Health and Safety culture within the business.
The role as a Health, Safety and Environmental Lead includes: Advise and support staff in HSE Legislation.
Ensuring that all policies and practices are regularly reviewed and updated as required.
Supporting operational teams with the production of risk assessments and safe systems of work Ensure all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements are implemented Provide advice on risk management and health surveillance Assist with the development and undertaking of HSE Audits and Assessment Plans Proactively identifying key-areas of non-compliance and improvement.
Develop and deliver HSE training.
Take the lead on coordinating and facilitating safety committee meetings Accurate production and reporting of metrics Deputise for QHSE Manager as and when required.
Experience and Qualifications required for this Health, Safety and Environmental Lead role: Minimum level 3 Health & Safety qualification eg NEBOSH National Certificate Minimum TechIOSH, preferred CertIOSH or equivalent Full UK driving licence Previous experience working in a similar role within the rail industry.
Experience in developing and embedding policies, systems and procedures.
Experience in training and coaching others.
Strong communicator Methodical approach to problem solving and decision making Naturally inquisitive with a focus on continuous improvement Be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines Excellent planning and co-ordination skills Team player Take accountability for own responsibilities and work under own initiative.
