Job Advertisement: Head of Year - Pastoral Role

Location: Secondary School, Bury
Salary: Up to £110 per day
Contract Type: Full-time, Mon-Fri, with the potential for long-term contract for the right candidate

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Head of Year - Pastoral Role to join our dynamic team at a secondary school in Bury.
In this key role, you will be responsible for the pastoral care and well-being of students within a specific year group, ensuring they receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

As Head of Year, you will work closely with students, parents, and school staff, fostering a positive and supportive environment that encourages students to achieve their best.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people's development and making a positive impact on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities: Provide pastoral care and guidance to students within your designated year group.
Liaise regularly with parents and guardians to support students' well-being and academic progress.
Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor and support students' behaviour, attendance, and personal development.
Lead interventions to support students facing personal or academic challenges.
Promote a positive and inclusive environment within the school, ensuring students feel safe, respected, and supported.
Manage and support a team of form tutors, ensuring consistent delivery of pastoral support.
The Ideal Candidate: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Experience in a pastoral or leadership role within a secondary school setting.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Passionate about supporting students' personal and academic development.
Ability to motivate and inspire students, encouraging their engagement with school life.
A calm, empathetic, and approachable manner.
