We are multidisciplinary, consisting ofdoctors, nursing staff, Health Advisers and administrators.
Working days are Monday – Saturday.You will work as a nurse practitioner in the Chlamydia Screening team, accountable for diagnosing, advising, treating and discharging patients who have been diagnosed with Chlamydia.
You will work according to the Nursing & Midwifery Code of professional conduct and relevant professional guidelines providing a high standard of patient care,using a flexible patient approach.
You will identifty and proactively act on any safeguarding or additional patient needs that you identify during the course of this role.
You will be overseen by the Senior Chlamydia Screening Nurse.
You will actively support the nursing team, assisting in the safe, effective and efficient management of the department.
This is a fixed term, part-time role until 31st March 2025.
The post holder, in conjunction with the Team Manager, will be responsible for managing patients with positive genital Chlamydia results.
They will give results, arrange treatment and initiate partner notification.
They will develop and maintain sustainable working relationships with all relevant organisations and partners.
Act as a resource for staff and the public in the understanding of Chlamydia.Provide support to screening sites across BNSSG and BANESContribute to the ongoing development of the serviceParticipate in the management of people who have a positive Chlamydia diagnosis and their partnersSupport coordinator in operationally managing the day to day running of the Chlamydia screening serviceIn conjunction with the Lead Screening Nurse, support the implementation of national recommendations and policies, interpreting and adapting them for local implementation within the Chlamydia screening service.Contribute to effective team working between Chlamydia screening, Primary Care, Secondary and Tertiary sexual health serviceTo support the Lead Screening Nurse in the delivery, evaluation and auditing of the Chlamydia screening programme across the designated screening areas University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, bringing together a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff and over 100 different clinical services across 10 different sites, serving a core population of more than 500,000 people across South West England.
