Job summary We have an exciting new opportunity for a GP Assistant to join the team based at Tiptree Medical Centre - this is a full time position (37 hours per week), but we will consider part time hours for the right applicant.
This is a new post developed to deliver better outcomes for patients by supporting GPs within appointments and with necessary paperwork.We are a friendly, busy and innovative practiceof approximately 12,000 patients in Tiptree,north-east Essex, the jam-making capital of the are an award-winning, semi-rural practice ideally located close to Englands oldest town, Colchester, with nearby rail links direct to London and easy access to the east coast.
We pride ourselves on being relaxed, with family-friendly and flexible working patterns.The team comprise of two friendly, supportive partners and 2 salaried GPs.
We have an excellent nursing team comprising of 4 advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs), 3 practice nurses, 2 HCAs, 3 clinical pharmacists and 1 pharmacy technician.Interviews will be carried out for successful applicants on receipt of application, and we reserve the right to retract the advert if a suitable person is found before the advertised end date.
Main duties of the job Sorting all clinical post and prioritising for the GP in terms of actions.
Extracting all information from clinical letters that needs coding and adding to note.
Arranging appointments, referrals, tests and follow up appointments of patients.
Preparing patients prior to going in to see the GP, taking a brief history and basic readings in readiness for the GP appointment.
Dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs & phlebotomy.
Explaining treatment procedures to patients.
Filing and allocating of test results (with clinician support.
Working with our care co-ordinator team.
Working to achieve QOF and IIF outcomes.
Supporting practice team to help patients with their chronic disease management.
