We operate a hybrid way of working, meaning that you'll split your time across client location, Faculty's Old Street office and working from home depending on the needs of the project.About the roleAs a Frontend Engineer you will be working closely with one or multiple of our delivery teams who are responsible for visualising insights from the output of our data scientists. We are looking for someone who can drive industry best practice and standards in our evolving frontend guild.
Working within the Government & Public Services Business Unit, you'll be working on delivery solutions to some of the most unique challenges facing customers in that space using AI and Machine Learning.
What you'll be doing:Your role will evolve alongside business needs, but you can expect your key responsibilities to include:
Working with our data scientists, data engineers, UI and UX designers to build client facing products to bring Faculty's machine learning work to lifePrioritisation, planning, coordination and communication of frontend features within the frontend team but also to external stakeholdersSetting up and maintaining the development and deployment infrastructure for the frontend team you are a part of.Maintaining the best practices and standards common to the whole frontend capacity of FacultyTraining, mentoring and onboarding of new frontend engineersCreate learning resources to be used across the team your are leadingBe involved from with the product life cycle from idea generation to shippingBe the go to authority for frontend software engineering within your teamCreate and maintain reusable component libraries that are used in projects company wideWho We're Looking ForAt Faculty, your attitude and behaviour are just as important as your technical skill. To succeed in this role, you'll need demonstrable experience in the following:
Building scalable, maintainable, and tested web applications in ReactES6 JavaScript, HTML, CSS3, or related web technologiesExperience writing TypeScript or other typed languagesExperience building backend APIs with Node JSData visualisation techniques and implementations, such as d3Building and Design systems for use across multiple platformsHave exposure to deployment into the Cloud with AWS, GCP or AzureBuild tools, such as Webpack and BabelWe like people who combine expertise and ambition with optimism -- who are interested in changing the world for the better -- and have the drive and intelligence to make it happen.
