You have responsibility for assisting with the monthly accounting cycle, including ownership over P&L and balance sheet lines and the production of relevant and meaningful analysis, commentary and reconciliations around areas of reporting.
Key Responsibilities: Take ownership of balance sheet and P&L accounts and assume responsibility for financial reporting and operational queries relating to those areas Provide insightful and meaningful commentary around P&L variances to budget and prior month/year Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations every month promptly Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting Be willing and able to challenge and manage stakeholders in areas of responsibility Ensure accounting standards are adhered to while having due regard for the motivations of other departments Support with month-end and year-end close processes Support with interim and year-end audit queries around areas of responsibility Suggest process and control changes to drive continual improvement around financial control and reporting Perform other ad-hoc duties and reporting as needed The Ideal Candidate : ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant with audit experience Technically strong Accountant, looking for the first or second move in Industry Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines Strong problem-solving skills and a commercially curious mindset Excellent Excel skills and ability to build relationships across all levels What they Offer: Competitive salary: £60,000 - £75,000 Performance-based bonus Comprehensive benefits package Hybrid working (3 days in, 2 remote) Opportunity to progress in a multi-site Retailer How to Apply: We want to hear from you if you're excited about this opportunity and believe you have what it takes to excel in this role.
