About The Role The Finance Manager will be a key member of the Finance team, involved with all aspects of finance for the business in a very hands-on capacity.
You will report into the Head of Finance and be instrumental in the day-to-day financial management and control within the business, ensuring that all financial reporting is accurate and delivered on time to support commercial decisions and strategy by the Senior Executive Team.
Having exceptional attention to detail and a hands-on approach, with the ability to step back and look at the bigger picture will be absolutely key in order to enjoy success in the role.
Likewise, being able to juggle multiple tasks effectively, whilst working to tight deadlines within a fast-paced environment are all key components of the role.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Review of monthly management accounts reporting pack, to include P&Ls, balance sheet, sales and cost analysis and commentary Full ownership of the trial balance, ensuring journals, accruals and prepayments are posted accurately and are reviewed against budgets/forecasts on a monthly basis Cash flow management, tracking actual cash flow movements against forecast and highlighting issues in a timely manner Implementing and managing annual budgets Leading the preparation of statutory accounts, including liaising with external Accountants Support the operational teams with relevant analysis and KPI reporting to ensure trading is optimised, including provision of relevant sales reporting across various channels Preparation and submission of all statutory filings, including quarterly VAT, and working with 3rd party Tax Consultants to ensure international VAT obligations are met Line management and ongoing mentoring of Finance team members, ensuring smooth running of the team Pro-actively look for opportunities to streamline and further automate workload while maintaining library of process notes Support the Finance team to improve processes and efficiencies in advance of ERP implementation Support implementation and the ongoing improvements of ERP system Support and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the entire business Ad hoc planning and analysis as required to support the needs of the Senior Leadership Team and other business functions About You To be considered and deemed to be a suitable candidate for the post, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) – 3-5yrs PQE Experience within a similar role Experience managing a small Finance team, with a positive and flexible management style Highly accurate and meticulous eye for detail Strong analytical skills with the ability to look at the bigger picture Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Outstanding communication skills with all stakeholders at all levels In addition, we're looking for a commercially astute individual who will come with a fresh pair of eyes with an appetite for making things better and with this will come the opportunity to really put your own stamp on the role.
Someone who comes with a pro-active way of thinking, with real drive and energy will be needed in order to succeed in the role.
It's also best suited to those who are hungry for progression and want to develop and move up the ladder.
With the aforementioned level of growth expected over the next 3yrs, the role will clearly evolve and I think it's fair to say will look quite different in 2-3yrs time and that's the exciting part to it all.
