The role?
An exciting role has arisen for a Project Accountant to join our Finance team in Aberdeen.
This is a temporary position on a 3–6-month contract , reporting to the Head of Finance.
You will be responsible for project accounting duties including (but not restricted to) monthly accounting entries, reporting (quarterly and monthly), budgeting & forecasting and supporting multiple projects.
Other main duties will include; Timely and accurate preparation of business line accounting entries and reports in line with monthly and quarterly project timetables In depth review of Profit & Loss and liaising with project managers Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations Assisting business lines with forecasting updates and variance analysis Capture and safeguard project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews Close working with assigned business line to assist with management and reduction of WIP, Accrued Income, Aged Debt and other KPI's Assisting and supporting stock and fixed asset counts Preparation of company VAT returns and other taxation requirements such as Intrastat & EC Sales Lists You are?
To be successful for this position you will have previous experience in a project or management accountant role in a medium sized business and wide knowledge of practical daily operations of an accounting team.
You will have experience working with integrated ERP business management systems and be proficient in the use of Microsoft excel.
We are open to candidates being QBE, Part Qualified or Qualified.
You will be used to working to tight deadlines and having a busy workload, through this having good time management skills.
