Job Description: We are looking for a proactive Finance Manager/Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and reporting.
This hands-on role involves managing financial processes, collaborating with external partners, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to support the organisation's objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Introduce a monthly accounting calendar, including the month-end cycle, ensuring key deadlines align with the reporting expectations of the business.
Produce end-to-end monthly management accounts for one legal entity, including balance sheet reconciliation, commentary, MI Reporting, and preparation of the Board Pack.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to implement a robust budgeting methodology with effective cost controls, including annual budgets and quarterly reviews of actuals and variances.
Develop Month-on-Month trackers and conduct quarterly reviews to monitor performance.
Produce accurate 30-day and 30-week cash flow forecasts, taking responsibility for cash flow management.
Stock Management: Oversee stock management and forecasting to ensure optimal inventory levels.
External Partnerships: Manage the relationship with the external accountancy partner handling bookkeeping, payroll, pensions, VAT, and year-end accounts preparation/completion.
Evaluate which finance elements should be brought in-house for hands-on management versus those that can remain outsourced.
Ad-Hoc Reporting: Provide ad-hoc reporting and financial insights for the CFO, Board, and investors as needed.
Process Improvement: Review and enhance financial processes and procedures, implementing technology to drive efficiencies and automate tasks.
Requirements: Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
Significant experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller is essential.
Proven expertise in implementing a monthly accounting calendar, including budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, and financial reporting.
Willingness to take on hands-on responsibilities, as this is not a people management role.
Tech-savvy with a strong ability to identify efficiencies and implement suitable tools.
Confident in using accounting systems such as Xero and has intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment, with a readiness to attend team meetings a couple of days each week at HQ in London.
