As we begin our journey into AMP8, you'll see many technological changes and improvements across our water sites and have a chance to make a positive impact to the communities we serve.This is a busy and varied role; where you will be overseeing and managing a large team of operational staff across the Sussex region, so you must be highly organised and have excellent prioritisation and stakeholder management skills.Job OverviewA large part of this role will be people management, however you will also be out and about getting 'hands on' in this role.
You will have team members at different levels in their careers, including apprentices which will need your guidance and support.
You will work collaboratively with stakeholders internally, such as the scheduling team, to ensure all the work is covered effectively by your team as well as external contractors on site.Day to day you will be responsible for: People management of a large team (Electrical & Mechanical Engineers)Task allocationDriving efficiency, productivity, standards, and quality to ensure compliance, serviceability, and optimisation of Water Resource and Production assetsDriving improvements on the capabilities, competencies, and skills across 3 technical disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, and ICA - Instrumentation, Control and Automation)Monitoring safety processes and proceduresIdentifying and solving issues (problem solving)About YouTo be suitable for this role, you will have worked in a 'hands on' position, in either Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering so you have the knowledge to bring to your team and to support where necessary.
