This post is to provide support to the Paediatric Neurosurgery team .
The locum will join a team of 4 Paediatric Neurosurgeons.
The Neurosurgeons provide comprehensive paediatric neurosurgical services to the South West of England serving a catchment population of approximately 5 million.The Department currently undertakes approximately 550 paediatric neurosurgical procedures per annum.
The Department has a full range of paediatric neurosurgical facilities including a dedicated neurosurgical operating theatre with an intraoperative MRI suite, provision of paediatric robotic neurosurgery including deep brain stimulation, stereotactic EEG and robotic endoscopy.
The hospital is a nationally designated centre for paediatric epilepsy surgery.
The Department also delivers complex paediatric neurovascular services and non-syndromic craniofacial surgical services.
The post-holder will be expected to support the Paediatric Neurosurgery Team.
The applicant should be trained in functional and robotic neurosurgery and be able to support the delivery of these services.
The post-holder should have full training in general paediatric neurosurgery which would include a minimum 12 month fellowship in Paediatric Neurosurgery in a major centre in the UK or international centre of excellence.
