Job Title: Factory Maintenance Manager Division: Commercial Vehicle Division (Composite Parts Manufacturing & ETRUX) Location: JANS Group, Antrim Reports To: Operations Director Job Description: JANS Group is seeking an experienced Factory Maintenance Manager to take comprehensive responsibility for planned preventative maintenance across our Commercial Vehicle Division, encompassing our Composite Parts Manufacturing and ETRUX units.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, reliable, and functional to support our business objectives, including the high standards of vehicle conversion and manufacturing we are known for.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the Factory Maintenance Manager will oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep of the companys facilities, ensuring optimal resource availability for the team to meet production goals efficiently and within budget.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Planning & Implementation: Develop, implement, and regularly update maintenance procedures.
Ensure smooth execution of both scheduled and ad hoc maintenance tasks to avoid downtime.
Inspection & Troubleshooting: Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues, ensuring functionality and safety.
Repair & Installation Oversight: Plan, supervise, and coordinate all repair and installation activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Team Leadership: Allocate tasks to maintenance staff, oversee performance, and provide guidance and training to ensure high standards of work.
Inventory Management: Monitor equipment inventory levels, assess stock needs, and place orders as necessary to ensure continuous operational support.
Budget & Expense Control: Track maintenance expenses, adhere to set budgets, and identify cost-saving opportunities where possible.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Manage relationships with contractors, negotiate service agreements, and ensure timely completion of outsourced work.
Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, report on daily activities, and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Person Specification: Qualifications: Relevant certifications in maintenance and health & safety regulations (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in a maintenance management role within a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of managing and implementing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programs in a fast-paced, technical setting.
Experience with mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial facility.
Skills and Attributes: Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with hands-on troubleshooting skills.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in managing, training, and motivating maintenance teams, including conflict resolution.
Budgeting & Reporting: Proficiency in budgeting, expense control, and reporting on maintenance activities and costs.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
Communication: Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with teams, vendors, and senior leadership.
