The Role: As an Exercise Clinic Lead with us, you'll play a pivotal role in providing tailored exercise medicine assessment and prescription for people with cancer. You will assess patients, plan and deliver exercise intervention programs and services to meet our objectives and the needs of the patients. What You'll Do: Responsible for ensuring all patients are provided with information about the exercise medicine programme both in written format and verbally as part of the onboarding process.Accountable for ensuring risk assessments are completed for all patients using the exercise clinic.Responsible for delegating tasks to the Exercise Clinic Assistant and providing ongoing clinical supervision, training and direct line support.Actively participate in centre activities, including team meetings, daily huddles etc.Responsible for accurate data collection and ensuring that all patient documentation is updated in a timely manner, in accordance with HCPC standards of proficiency and GCUK policy.Responsible for actively promoting the service through regular communication with consultants, presenting at engagement events and internally within GCUK.Responsible for collating and presenting data about the service, using data to recommend improvements and service development.What You'll Have: Experience and skills: Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience or equivalent clinical experience at a Band 6 level, predominately working with patients in Oncology. Must have completed rotations in Surgery, Orthopaedics, Medicine and Outpatients.Extra training will be provided by GenesisCare.Experience and ability of working in a clinic setting.Experience of teaching and supervising less experienced staff.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and use own initiative.Motivational Interviewing/ Behaviour Change training.Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working.Experience of clinical audit and/or research.Evidence of active involvement in service development & contribution to change within the workplace.Evidence of advanced clinical reasoning and the management of complex cases.Evidence of understanding the skills required for service development and evaluation.Demonstrate effective communication skills to a range of audiences e.g. patients, carers and other professionals.Ability to prioritise own workload and that of others and effective time management.Experience of working effectively and efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary team.Ability to demonstrate clear understanding of clinical governance and its application to the work setting.Ability to demonstrate a commitment to best practice and awareness of relevant national standards/guidelines.Knowledge of quality assurance and audit programmes in line with requirements for Clinical Governance.Ability to demonstrate self-direction in thought and practice.Knowledge of research and development process.Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.Qualifications and Knowledge: BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or Diploma or equivalent.Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for profession.Evidence or portfolio of postgraduate continued development, preferably in oncology, rehabilitation and exercise science.Membership of specialist interest group i.e. ACPOPC.Why Choose GenesisCare: Discover what's in store for you when you join the GenesisCare UK team:
