This is a home-based position which will require you to visit the main office near Milton Keynes (Olney)1-2 days per week.
Also, there will be occasional site visits as and when required.
JOB OVERVIEW Using industry experience and knowledge to provide detailed estimates for Client Projects, including cost estimates, work time estimates, and overall customer satisfaction.
Maintains existing Client Contracts and continuously seeks out new clients and estimating opportunities.
Main Duties As an Estimating Engineer your main duties will include preparing cost budgets and cost estimates for new contract and ensuring consistency across all project estimating and pricing.
This could include making amendments, providing new cost estimates and maintaining communication with the client.
An important part of this position will be to prepare detailed, well written proposals for each client, adhering to client guidelines whilst offering competitive and comprehensive cost estimates, and including supplementary documentation.
Whilst also maintaining detailed records of all estimation documentation, including site assessments and contract terms.
Team collaboration will be a key aspect to being successful in this position working closely with the Tendering Manager and Design Team to help with development, innovation and creativity on client projects.
Collaboration with clients will be a necessity for this role too but also ensuring to keep a sales-minded attitude and the ability to seek out and build relationships with new clients.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Experience working within a fast moving dynamic engineering company Strong customer facing skills with sales and customer service.
Computer literate with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook & Estimation software (Simpro) advantageous.
Valid Driving License Experience in building cost estimates from 33kv - 132kv.
Experience and understanding of UK DNO's requirements (G81) for Contestable works.
