Engineering Manager

Job Description We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our IT team in Milton Keynes.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the engineers reporting to them form a highly skilled and motivated workforce as well as overseeing software development projects and acting as a gatekeeper for quality.
The role will focus on developing the capability of our Software Engineers operating within agile teams, ensuring personal growth and stretch opportunities are realised to deliver effective talent and succession pipelines.
The Engineering manager should be a source of innovation, improvement and inspiration to the team they lead capable of both suggesting and embracing change.
Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager : Leadership of a cross functional engineering team of 15-20 Ensuring quality and performance Overseeing software development projects from inception to completion Supporting innovation and improvement with the team Support engineering team and other stakeholders to set goals for improving code quality,maintainability, security, and scalability.
Monitor progress against these goals.
Coach and mentor engineers, helping facilitate innovation and new ideas as well as building robust, scalable enterprise applications.
