LANXESS UK is now recruiting a HSEQ Specialist – Systems to work at our Trafford Park site!
About the Role: LANXESS is looking for an experienced HSEQ Specialist - Systems to enhance and manage our Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Management System.
This role will ensure ISO9001 & ISO14001 compliance and oversee site-wide legal and environmental compliance, audits, training, and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update HSEQ systems, policies, and procedures Ensure compliance with environmental permits, ISO standards, and waste management Coordinate internal audits and lead incident investigations Manage environmental data, performance reporting, and regulatory requirements Collaborate on safety training and HSEQ improvement initiatives About You!
You will be an experienced HSEQ Specialist from a manufacturing background with a relevant degree qualification.
You'll need a strong knowledge of HSEQ systems, regulatory compliance, and ISO standards, plus skills in data analysis, training, and cross-functional teamwork.
You will be happy being site based and enjoy building relationships and encouraging a culture focused on safety and sustainability.
Essential Skills and Experience: Proven experience as an Environmental Advisor or HSEQ Specialist, ideally within a COMAH (chemical manufacturing) facility.
Strong attention to detail, particularly in performance data analysis within spreadsheets, reporting, and document accuracy for external submissions.
Expertise in writing HSEQ procedures and managing Environmental Permits.
Skilled in creating presentations and simplifying complex data for clear communication.
In-depth knowledge of HSEQ laws, regulations, practices, and standards.
Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001 standards and experience with internal auditing.
Key Competencies: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize workload independently.
Effective communicator with strong presentation and report-writing abilities; able to engage effectively with all levels of staff, including senior management and operatives.
Ability to build collaborative relationships and work well in a team.
Business and process-oriented, with an eye for continuous improvement and customer alignment.
Persuasive and influential, able to gain support and drive action.
