Central Functions provide a variety of core business services and technology solutions that underpin the operational and regulatory capabilities of the Society.
The COO (Chief Operating Office), HR & Business Services domain within Central Functions has extensive and exciting portfolios of change planned, which has created an opportunity for a Systems Analyst to join the team.
We're looking for an experienced, competent and motivated Systems Analyst to help Nationwide's COO, HR & Business Services Architecture & Engineering team realise its strategic outcomes through IT change and innovation.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time based at our Swindon, Nationwide House office.

What you'll be doing As a Systems Analyst you will use your expertise and experience to refine and interpret business requirements into design specifications that will inform developers and infrastructure engineers enabling them to deliver resilient, secure, and performant solutions.
You will assess your potential solutions for technical and business suitability.
You will work with Business Analysts, Architects, Network Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, Development Engineers, Security, Test, Project Management, and other stakeholders to define and create high quality design documentation, ensuring compliance with our organisational guardrails to deliver the right solutions in the right way.

About you To be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrable track record of solution analysis and design across a variety of projects Proven delivery of high-quality project deliverables including High-Level Designs, Detailed Designs, Interface Specifications, and Impact Assessments An analytical mind with a logical approach to problem solving and solution design, and the ability and mindset to quickly learn new technologies concepts and apply them to create new solutions Experience in applying reference architectures, patterns, and standards Experience of working with SQL databases and an awareness of other DB technology such as NoSQL Strong integration design experience (e.g.
batch, API) Worked with Agile and/or 'waterfall' based methodologies Development experience as a practical foundation for design and awareness of various development languages and frameworks such as SQL, Java, C, C++, C#, Python, .NET Our Customer First behaviours are all about putting customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
