Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities Assist the Engineering Manager with the smooth running of the maintenance and engineering support services, including maintenance of the plant utilities (i.e.
steam, compressed air generation, water circulation systems), and also hydraulic/pneumatic manufacturing processes and electronic/micro-processor-controlled moulding presses Maintain plant equipment and machinery to a high standard using planned maintenance programs and relevant systems.
Maintain boilers, compressors, hydraulic units, control valves, pre-expanders, water system vales and all plant equipment.
Carry out simple repairs with gas, electrical and welding etc.
Complete daily routine maintenance/inspections and completed repairs as required, in line with quality standards.
Complete monthly stock checks and order spares as required Complete all duties allocated in the work schedule.
Knowledge of expansion process along with hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems and maintenance programmes etc.
Knowledge of fault finding, component replacement, guarding systems, motor testing and replacing Support plant start-up shutdowns and deal with any break downs appropriately.
Assist the Plant Engineer with the security of the site, including buildings, plant and equipment Assist the Operations Manager with compliance to our corporate services requirements including ISO IATF 16949 and Health & Safety Management Systems To complete 12 improvement projects and present them in a professional way along with tracking any savings and proving out the improvement is/has worked.
Communicate issues and keep all departments informed of all activities.
Carry out the service programme to a high level, with thought put into pre-service inspection and the quality of the report.
Knowledge & Qualifications Proven experience in a similar role (5/10 years) Excellent time management and organisation skills Computer literate e.g.
Excel/Word and PowerPoint Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels Demonstrates experiences of making sound judgementunder pressure.
Team Player Systematic and with high attention to detail Strong mechanical or process engineering background that reinforces extensive know-how of high-end, high-volume injection moulding and assembly.
Working knowledge of machinery safety regulations and legislation.
Ability to make decisions that maximise plant output + efficiency whilst balance those decisions with safety, product quality and cost.
