Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to be an effective part of the team responsible for the design and development of varied mechanical and composite components within our Engine Systems group.
The group is responsible for the design of all aspects related to the powertrain installation in the car, including the cooling and fuel system.
A role in this group offers exposure to many engineering disciplines to ensure these systems are structurally and aerodynamically optimised and provides an opportunity to make tangible improvements to the performance and reliability of the car.
Key Responsibilities Design and development of all aspects related to the powertrain installation in the car, including: Fuel Systems: Optimizing fuel delivery, performance and efficiency. Engine Cooling Systems: Designing radiators, ducts, and other components for optimal temperature management. Other Powertrain Components: Designing and integrating tanks, packaging for some electric components, clutch, MGU and other crucial engine support systems. Collaborate with various specialists (aerodynamicists, thermal management experts, production engineers) to ensure: Seamless integration with car aerodynamics. Proactive involvement in fault resolution activities Optimised powertrain performance. Designs are manufacturable and meet production timelines. Contribute to weight reduction initiatives through material selection, production methods and sound design principles. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical/ systems design within a motorsport/ high performance sector Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks). Attention to Detail: Critical for fast-paced development and reliable assemblies.
