Job Description Working as a global HR Division, our regional EMEA Team are split into HR Centre of Excellence teams, covering Reward, Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering & Employee Relations, and Projects & Reporting.
As an Employee Relations Specialist, you represent the Employee Relations team by providing timely and trusted advice to SS&C EMEA.
About the Role Respond to queries mainly received via the Employee Relations mailbox and build trusted professional relationships with managers and employees, where appropriate.
Provide advice on Company policy and local employment legislation and its practical application.
Ensure HR matters are handled in a timely, fair and consistent manner and in line with service level agreements, legislation, best practice and Company policy.
Actively support managers in performance management of employees, updating the relevant Lead Employee Relations Partner, where appropriate.
Review flexible working requests, investigations, probation reviews, disciplinary and grievance cases, check and advise on documentation, support managers in meetings with ad hoc notetaking in meetings.
Support managers by participating in investigations, termination reviews, disciplinary and grievance hearings, where appropriate.
Actively manage sickness issues in partnership with the business ensuring best practice obligations are met and offer guidance around Company sick pay policy and local legislation.
Escalate all complex/risky cases to Lead Employee Relations Partners, to discuss next steps, which may involve owning the case with mentoring from the Lead Employee Relations Partner, or providing administrative support.
In conjunction with the wider HR team, continuously review processes and practices relating to the role and act as a catalyst for change and improvement, including reviewing and improving HR processes and documentation.
Ad hoc project work including but not limited to; Handbook updates, buzz sessions, reduction in force programmes, TUPE and mental health initiatives.
Review Leaver's survey data and carry out exit interviews where necessary.
Provide administrative support including maintenance and updating of various forms and templates used by the wider business.
Be accountable for the delivery of a quality service.
Share knowledge within the team, to drive development and excellence at all levels.
To carry out any other duties which are within the employee's skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
Your Experience Essential: Demonstrable experience within a complex and fast paced HR environment, dealing with employee and manager queries on all aspects of Employment Law Excellent understanding of HR policy and employment law legislation Ability to recognise when an issue is high risk/complex and therefore escalate Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to see different perspectives and have the confidence to express yourself Ability to manage own workload efficiently and effectively and to plan and prioritise appropriately High levels of integrity Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel Ability to take accurate notes Proactive, and self-motivated with strong organisational skills Team player with a collaborative spirit across teams regardless of geographical boundaries CIPD qualified to a level 3 (or equivalent)/or willing to study Desirable: Experience of working within HR for Financial or Professional Services Company Experience of working in a global Company Previous experience and knowledge of European Employment law Experience of using HRIS system Workday Foreign languages We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups, to enable us to bring a diversity of perspectives to our thinking and conversation.
