We're looking for a dedicated Domestic Abuse & Safeguarding Advisor to be part of our mission in supporting a life free from abuse for our customers and colleagues. This role is all about providing quality, empathetic support to those in need, working within a team committed to safeguarding, and promoting an abuse-aware culture.
What you'll be doing: Managing a caseload, keeping accurate records for safeguarding and domestic abuse cases. Working closely with other agencies to provide collaborative support for those affected by abuse. Supporting team visits to domestic abuse refuges and assisting with related housing needs. Maintaining a non-judgmental, customer-led approach in assessing risks and customer choices, especially around housing and safety. Reviewing MARAC agendas and ensuring Life24 alarm systems are in place and up-to-date. Managing the referral inbox, ensuring timely responses and offering guidance on safeguarding within the organisation. Supporting data collection for reporting, training, and accreditation. Acting as a Domestic Abuse Responder, offering resources and support to colleagues facing abuse. Adhering to Health & Safety, Lone Working, and GDPR guidelines to maintain a safe, compliant environment. Sharing information appropriately with internal teams and external partners to enhance our safeguarding efforts. Keeping skills sharp with regular training, staying current with best practices in the field. What we're looking for: Experience in a customer-focused role, bringing empathy and care to every interaction. A team player who collaborates to achieve shared goals. Awareness of the many forms of abuse and their warning signs. Ability to recognise when abuse risks escalate and take appropriate action. Confidence in using common IT systems (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel etc). Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
