*Job title: Digital Accessibility Coordinator *Salary type : Up to £29k (Depending on experience) *Job type: Full-time 6 months fixed term contract *Location: Hybrid (Open to either the London / Oxford offices) Allocated office days are: Wednesday and Thursday Aquent is seeking a passionate and experienced Digital Accessibility Coordinator to join a British worldwide publishing house of fiction and non-fiction.
The Accessibility Coordinator (temp) will be supporting the Head of Production and Complex eBooks & Accessibility Manager in the administration, analysis / assessment of European Accessibility Act (EAA) related projects and coordinate between relevant company departments and divisions with the aim of assisting in the formulation and implementation of coherent and consistent strategies and policies to ensure compliance with the new legal framework across the Group.
They will attend internal meetings and briefings, take notes / minutes, disseminate information, and carry out analysis of data from external suppliers and internal stakeholder feedback.
They will also support the Accessibility manager in their critical role of providing central oversight, guidance and co- ordination in accessibility related matters and managing the company's migration to accessible workflows.
Overall Responsibilities: Supporting the Head of Production and the Complex eBooks and Accessibility manager in coordinating EAA and general digital accessibility related projects and initiatives Compiling and disseminating analysis and briefing materials to internal stakeholders and working groups Reviewing image descriptions (Alt Text) and providing feedback to internal stakeholders on their (its) quality in line with internal guidance Requirements Some relevant experience in digital book publishing An understanding of the production life cycle for digital books, e.g.
fixed layout and re-flowable eBooks An understanding of HTML/ CSS and responsive design Excellent organisational and time-management skills Keen eye for detail (proof-reading skills are essential) IT skills (knowledge of Excel and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite) Awareness of eBook and Web accessibility standards To apply for this hybrid Digital Accessibility Coordinator position in London/Oxford, please contact Aquent today.
