JOB- Design Engineer LOCATION- Rochester TERM- Permanent SALARY- £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits) Premier Engineering is seeking a talented Design Engineer with experience in SolidWorks and sheet metal design to join our client's team in Rochester.
This role involves designing high-quality sheet metal components and assemblies for various applications.
The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: Proven experience in mechanical design, particularly with sheet metal parts and assemblies Proficiency in SolidWorks, including advanced modeling and drawing techniques Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes such as cutting, bending, and welding A degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings Experience working collaboratively within a design and production environment Familiarity with relevant standards and material properties The Design Engineer role will involve: Creating 3D models and detailed technical drawings of sheet metal components using SolidWorks Developing innovative design solutions that meet customer and project requirements Collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for production Reviewing and revising designs to meet cost, quality, and performance criteria Producing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated documentation Ensuring compliance with industry standards and company procedures Managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines Participating in design reviews and providing technical input to enhance product development If you are a skilled Design Engineer with a passion for sheet metal design and SolidWorks expertise, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, including your availability and salary expectations.
