Job Description JOB- Director of Engineering LOCATION- Rochester, Kent TERM- Permanent SALARY- £80,000 to £120,000 per annum (plus benefits) Premier Engineering is recruiting for an experienced Engineering Director to lead the engineering function of a well-established manufacturing company with around 100 staff.
This is a senior leadership role, responsible for driving innovation, overseeing engineering projects, and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of its industry.
The Engineering Director will ideally have the following attributes: Extensive experience in engineering leadership roles within the manufacturing sector A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline Strong technical expertise in design, production, and process improvement Proven track record of managing engineering teams and large-scale projects Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications The Engineering Director role will involve: Leading and managing the engineering department, including design, production, and R&D teams Developing and implementing engineering strategies aligned with company objectives Overseeing the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements Driving innovation and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the business Collaborating with other departments, including operations and sales, to achieve company goals Managing resources, budgets, and team development to ensure optimal performance Staying up to date with industry trends and technologies to maintain a competitive edge Representing the company in client and stakeholder meetings, providing technical expertise If you are a visionary Engineering Director ready to lead a dynamic manufacturing team, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, including your availability and salary expectations.
