Job overview An exciting opportunity has become available based at Leighton Hospital within the Catering Department working as part of Estates and Facilities Division.Are you that person who has passion in leading a team?
Then you might be the Catering Supervisor we are looking for, we are looking for someone who can work of their own initiative and lead a team moving forward.Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in a health environment preparing meals for patients and also experience working in a commercial kitchen and serving the general public.
Full and ongoing training will be provided.
Main duties of the job The catering department is a fast paced friendly working environment within the hospital.
Our aim is always to ensure patient services and retail services are delivered to the highest standards.The Catering Supervisors role is to ensure that a high Standard of patient services and also to supervise all retail outlets including The Bistro, Café Express and The Trust shop as and when required covering Haccp, quality control, Training and monitoring of staff.The post is varied and covers all areas of the department.Uniforms are also provided.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities To provide operational support to the Management team to ensure the agreed service levels are consistently achieved, To understand and practice good food hygiene principles in accordance with the Food Hygiene Regulations.To ensure effective running of the Catering Quality Systems.To ensure work is carried out in compliance with agreed Health & Safety Standards.To provide job leadership and guidance for all staff responsible for food services.To carry out daily quality checks aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and carry out customer care training for all staff.To ensure that all staff employed on food service show due diligence in their food handling practices, and carry out their duties within the requirements of current legislation.To ensure premises are left to the agreed level of cleanliness, and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to at all times, along with HACCP Systems.To attend meetings as required.To take personal responsibility for the quality of the service provided and to contribute toward and support service improvements.To monitor, review and implement appropriate staff training.STAFF SUPERVISION Ensure that supervisory activities throughout the Department comply with requirements of Investors in People, Improving Working Lives and Trust policies and procedures.
