Job overview Bank Equipment Library and Decontamination AssistantPrevious applicants need not apply.The post holder will perform a wide range of tasks to support the Equipment Library & Decontamination Unit Supervisor, this will include special responsibility, under managed supervision, to support and assist the activities of the Equipment Library & Decontamination Unit issuing/collecting a portfolio of medical equipment to/from professional users.
Activities will include the support, care and provision of tissue viability equipment, decontamination of returned equipment prior to re-issue, liaising with front-line clinical staff and various other technical staff.

Main duties of the job Receive and action telephone requests and enquiries.Responsible for maintaining accurate records Arrange for the hire of medical equipment from external suppliers.Monitor stock levels and prepare an order Using the Meditech patient referral systemResponsible for the inputting of information Into the Equipment service database.Must comply with departmental Quality Systems, specified working practices.
Using your own judgement select the correct substance via COSHH to deliver safe, effective decontamination.Maintain the cleanliness of all equipment used in the decontamination process.Assist in the distribution, delivery, issuing and collection of medical equipment held by the Equipment Library & Decontamination Unit on all hospital sites as directed by more senior staffIt is the responsibility of the user to wear appropriate PPE provided to ensure safe working practices due to the possible exposure of body fluidsWill manage own workload in the absence of either supervisor or manager Working for our organisation
