We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and passionate Deputy Chief Nurse to join our professional team. The Deputy Chief Nurse will work as part of the senior Professional nursing team and lead on portfolio areas on behalf of the Chief Nursing Officer.
The post holder will deputise for all aspects of the Chief Nurse portfolio and is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who has ambitions to become a Chief Nurse. This post is for someone who is able to manage a demanding and busy portfolio, who has the confidence to work autonomously and role models compassionate Leadership.
The Deputy Chief Nurse will provide strong, visible and professional leadership and ensure that the pillars of quality including patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness as well as the delivery of high-quality care remain central to our strategic direction and decision making. Person SpecificationQualificationsNMC registration and current practising nurseHighly specialist, advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of nursing procedures - doctorate or masters and additional relevant training and qualificationsQuality improvement training and/or qualificationManagement or senior level leadership programmeKnowledge and ExperienceExtensive, successful track record of leadership and achievement at senior nursing level working within health or care settingsExtensive experience of leading and effectively managing teams, targets and change management in large, complex environments with a range of key stakeholdersExperience of building effective system partnerships, multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working and delivering clinical change through partnership workingSignificant experience in budgetary/financial management and governance processes, contributing to cost reduction strategiesSignificant experience of quality assurance and quality improvementSkills and AbilitiesHighly developed interpersonal and communication skills - exceptional influencing skillsCredible leadership with motivational, mediation and facilitation skillsDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
