Job overviewDEPUTY MEDICAL DIRECTOR Deputy Medical Director (System) Honorarium payment of £25,000 The Trust is seeking to appoint a Deputy Medical Director who can demonstrate a commitment to team working and shared responsibility for the achievement of the Trust's aims and objectives. The successful candidate will work as part of the Corporate Medical Leadership team and will contribute to strategic direction and decision-making processes with an overriding requirement to act in the corporate interests of the Trust and its patients. The roles involve promoting high standards of clinical care and teamwork through the provision of professional leadership to all medical staff on standards of practice, performance and associated professional matters.
Main duties of the jobSupporting the Chief Medical Officer, you will promote evidence-based practice and ensure Trust systems and policies are effective. Our drive for a culture of continuous improvement and people-centered leadership means that you will be able to demonstrate your ability to commit to and model our values. You will be able to inspire and motivate teams to be creative and deliver sustainable improvements.
The post will involve wider strategic working including liaison across the Health System. The role involves working with a range of professional groups on clinical practice matters including GPs, the LNC, ICS, and NHSI/E. You will also work in close partnership with senior clinical and managerial staff.
Experience of multidisciplinary leadership in a senior medical management position is essential. We are seeking a visible leader with an open and transparent leadership style who has extensive experience of service change and positively influencing performance and delivery. There is an expectation that post holders reduce other commitments to accommodate their Deputy Chief Medical Officer responsibilities.
