The Department of Earth Science and Engineering and Department of Materials at Imperial College London are jointly seeking a Department Services Co-ordinator.
The postholder will join our much valued Department Services Team who undertake daily operations to support the smooth running of the Departments and deliver exceptional customer service and building management to staff, students and visitors.
The Department Services Co-ordinator will work with the Department Services Manager to plan and supervise the weekly timetable for the team undertaking planned and responsive general maintenance and cleaning, room set-up for teaching, meetings or events, defect reporting and security card access requests.
They will also take the lead role on manual handling safety in the Departments.
The Department Services Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the Audio and Visual (AV) requirements in all department meeting rooms, offices and teaching/seminar spaces are fulfilled to the highest possible standards and is the first point of contact for technical AV support, providing a daily on call service during working hours.
Experience providing a customer focused service in a team environment.
Good written and verbal communicator: able to explain technical material to non-technical audiences and specific technical requirements to technical experts.
Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
Experience prioritising work and delegating tasks to ensure day-to-day requirements, planned deadlines and urgent responsive requests are met to support smooth-running operations.
Understanding of the importance of custodian work within the higher education setting.
Highly collaborative: able to work flexibly and productively with departmental colleagues, University operations teams, external vendors, and multiple stakeholders.
Good computer literacy: comfortable working with Windows and Mac operating systems and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
