The Department of Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan is one of the largest in the UK; with 85 members of staff and over 1500 students on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
It is student centred with a strong focus on teaching excellent research-led criminology.
The Department is also research-intensive, recently ranked in REF2022 as top 15 for research power.
Our research is applied, empirical, methodologically innovative, and highly cross-disciplinary.
The Department has particular research strengths in policy evaluation, young people and youth justice, and substance use/abuse: it is home to the nationally recognised PERU, MCYS, and Q-Step research centres.
Hourly Paid Associates/workers (Teaching Related)We are looking to engage with academic professionals across a wide range of different specialisms on an hourly paid basis.
These hours are available on a short term, ad hoc basis providing support to our students through a range of roles.You will have experience in delivering and supporting Higher Education activities, at an undergraduate and postgraduate level, in subject specific and interdisciplinary contexts or have strong relevant industry knowledge and experience.
