Role: Cover Supervisor Location: Okehampton Contract: Temporary Salary: £100 - £120 per day Long-Term Teachers have a wonderful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs .
Providing high-quality education and support to students across primary and secondary ages, the school is seeking a dedicated cover supervisor to provide essential support across the school.
About the role: The role of a cover supervisor is key to ensuring consistency and continuity for students.
You will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
You must be able to think on your feet, adapt at short notice and engage students in their learning.
The students you will be supporting all have needs associated with social, emotional and mental health challenges.
Most of the students also have other associated additional needs, such as autism, ADHD, attachment issues and speech and language difficulties.
Given that the students have SEMH difficulties and may display challenging behaviour, strong behaviour management skills, patience and resilience are crucial for this role.
About You: Experience: Previous experience working with children in the UK, whether in early years, primary or secondary education.
SEN knowledge: A strong understanding of special educational needs and strategies to support young people Personal qualities: Resilient, adaptable, hardworking and possess a good sense of humour.
Professional growth: A willingness to develop your knowledge and skills further.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing plans at short notice Able to drive and have access to your own vehicle This role is perfect for sports coaches, experienced TA's or cover supervisors looking for a new challenge or anyone wanting to work around their current schedule.
You will be working term time only , Monday - Friday , between the hours of 8:30am - 3pm .
