COST ESTIMATOR / BUSINESS ANALYST (SOFT FM) Location: Remote – With some travel to our UK offices or client sites Hours of work: 40 hour per week Contract Type: Permanent As a Soft Services Business Analyst at ISS, you will play a pivotal role within the collaborative bid teams, working to develop winning solutions that align with client requirements while securing profitable, long-term cash flows through contract retention, extensions and new wins.
With a focus on costing and financial modeling, commercial review, and risk/opportunity analysis, your expertise will contribute directly to ISS's success in competitive bidding.
This role offers an excellent progression pathway within ISS, with a clear structure for advancement to senior roles, and the chance to contribute to a successful, industry-leading pricing team.
Job Description From the initial bid phase to contract close, you will work closely with the Solutions Director, overseeing the process through various stages, including Bid/No-Bid decisions, planning, solution development, costing and pricing, and submission and negotiation phases.
As a conduit between bid teams and ISS's broader business functions, including Operations, Legal, Insurance, and People and Culture, you'll ensure smooth communication and alignment.
Using your strong commercial and contractual skills, you will review bid documents to identify pricing requirements, assess data gaps, and flag any potential specification or contractual issues that could influence bid strategies.
This analysis will allow you to craft a clear pricing strategy, produce client clarifications, and identify associated risks and opportunities for each bid.

Key Responsibilities Manage all of the pricing and commercial risks of any Soft FM bids Ensure complete accuracy and accountability for each bid Drive a competitive approach, positioning bids favorably Shape the commercial solution and pricing strategy, identifying risks and opportunities Use benchmarking to ensure competitive and deliverable estimates Act as the single contact for costing models, coordinating with suppliers, procurement, and operations Apply different pricing methods (top-down and bottom-up) to develop solutions Liaise with Operations, Insurance, Legal, and People & Culture Oversee all financial aspects of bids, ensuring compliance with governance and finance policies Prepare P&Ls and cashflows for multiple users About You Proven estimating experience in Facilities Management - with Soft FM (preferred) Knowledge and experience with pricing approaches (top-down, bottom-up) and a variety of commercial models Proven experience in data analysis with accurate costings and a record of contributing to winning teams Strong team player who is used to working in a bid team, collaborating to develop winning solutions Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and evaluation of solution options Able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and perform in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills Good MS Office skills Excellent MS Excel skills Financial literacy, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, and financial modeling Influencing skills, with the ability to command credibility Willingness to travel when required Current UK Driving License The Company ISS is a world-leading workplace and facility management company, connecting people and places to make the world work better.
