Consultant Radiographer - Breast Imaging

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Consultant Radiographer within Breast Imaging. You will have a resilient approach to provide specialist opinions for breast imaging and expert professional advice to other professionals. You will be HCPC registered, possess an MSc in Breast Imaging (Mammography), Certificate of Competence in Mammography / Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography Practice and have significant experience as an Advanced Practitioner. You will be expected to be competent in all aspects of breast imaging and will include mammography interpretation, performing and interpreting breast ultrasound, performing biopsy and localisation procedures. You will play an important role in the Breast Unit and will join the existing Breast Team which comprises of Consultant Radiologists, Consultant Radiographers, Advanced Practitioners and Radiographers. Main duties of the job To provide a Consultant Breast Radiographer service providing a specialist opinion for breast imaging. This will include mammography interpretation, performing and interpreting breast ultrasound, performing biopsy and localisation procedures, recommending further action where necessary. Provide expert professional advice to other professionals, multidisciplinary groups, patients and carers. Play a pivotal role in the integration of research evidence into practice by delivering enhanced quality in the areas of assessment, diagnosis and management to improve outcomes for patients. Undertake research, audit and education activities. Contribute in an advisory role to the operational and strategic development of breast imaging services whilst ensuring delivery of the clinical governance agenda of the Breast Unit.
