This is a 1.0 WTE Consultant Psychiatrist post working on Avocet Ward, Woodlands, Ipswich, in the Acute Adult Pathway in Suffolk Services.
This is a replacement post following the previous post-holder retiring.
Main duties of the jobAvocet Ward is one of two 21 bed acute adult wards within the Woodlands Unit, adjacent to the Ipswich Hospital on the same site.
The Unit also consists of a 10 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a Section 136 suite, a later life ward and a Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team.
The wards work collaboratively with the community teams, in particular with the Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team, to provide comprehensive acute treatment.
The post holder is appointed as a senior professional in order to provide advanced professional expertise and clinical leadership.
