Person SpecificationQualifications and Training MBChB or equivalent Postgraduate qualification or equivalent FRCOphth Completion of basic training Completion of higher training Full GMC registration and currently on Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview Knowledge/Previous Experience Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems, both emergency and elective within the scope of adult & paediatric orbital and oculoplastic and general ophthalmology Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients Expertise and proven experience in the management of adult & paediatric orbital and oculoplastic and general ophthalmic problems Teaching and Audit Teaching medical students Experience of Clinical Audit in Ophthalmology Teaching junior medical staff Commitment to continuing medical education and the requirements of clinical governance and audit Academic Achievements and Research A specialist interest in Orbital and Oculoplastic surgery Relevant publications in recognised peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals in the last 3 years Research projects relating to Orbital and Oculoplastic surgery A desire to further their research in Orbital and Oculoplastics at MREH Interpersonal Skills Excellent Organisations skills Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
