Job summary An opportunity has arisen to expand our obstetric team and appoint two new Obstetric Consultants at Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital (BWCH).
The successful candidates will have the responsibility for providing care to women with complex and high risk pregnancies and be part of the multi-disciplinary team that work across the Trust.
BWCH provides a tertiary referral services in fetal and maternal medicine, supported by a Level 3 neonatal unit.
The successful candidates will be joining a well established team who provide specialist and high risk services for women in the care of the Trust.
Birthing around 7,400 women per year, Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital is one of the busiest maternity units in the region and as such are looking for someone that is motivated, capable and has strong leadership successful candidates will be those that embrace our Trust values and have a passion for delivering high quality and safe care.
We are therefore looking for someone who is Ambitious, Brave and Compassionate and with a commitment to continually improve our services, which have just been rated green by the CQC.
Our Trust is a split site and our Maternity services are based at the Women's Hospital site.
Both successful candidates will be expected to work from this base.
Main duties of the job These post holders will be part of the Obstetric service, working closely with colleagues in the direct team and across Obstetric services and networks.

These posts are advertised as full-time roles, however applicants wishing to be considered for a position with fewer sessions are welcome to apply.
The post holders are required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid license to practice medicine at this level.
