Position: Assurance and Compliance Lead Location: Hanley, Stoke on Trent Salary: £35,000- £40,0000 Are you experienced in Compliance and Assurance within a regulated sector, where you've provided guidance and support at the Senior Leadership Team?
This position offers a dynamic blend of responsibilities, focusing on governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, and project oversight.
The primary goal is to ensure smooth business operations by implementing a structured framework that enhances decision-making and accountability.
Job Responsibilities: Leading the coordination of all governance activities, including board meetings, with a focus on planning agendas that meet regulatory requirements where Board input is essential.
Acting as the primary contact for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), attending Board and other strategic meetings to present key business updates in your areas of responsibility.
Ensuring that SLT decisions are documented accurately and securely for audit purposes Serving as the main point of contact between SLT and external inspectors (e.g., SHiP and Housing Regulator) during inspections, including managing and providing necessary documentation.
Collating and presenting key performance and regulatory data at SLT and Board meetings, providing updates and insights to support informed decision-making.
Acting as the Formal Complaints Officer, delivering a customer-focused service through phone and written communication, troubleshooting complaints, and ensuring prompt resolutions while maintaining high customer satisfaction levels.
Ensuring accountability in the complaints process by escalating cases that do not progress within set timelines.
Ensuring managers are trained in GDPR, providing advice on queries, and upholding best practices for data protection.
Overseeing and processing all Subject Access Requests efficiently.
Developing and coordinating the internal audit function to ensure departmental compliance, monitoring case files, and evaluating internal controls for adequacy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across the organization, including developing systems to demonstrate effective governance controls.
Identifying and addressing compliance gaps, updating policies and procedures, and ensuring they are effectively published.
Developing and monitoring project plans to align major projects with the organizational business plan and ensure timely delivery.
Overseeing compliance in procurement and tender processes and working with managers on contract management.
About you: Skilled in designing and facilitating the development of compliance and assurance programs that align with regulatory and organisational standards.
Able to engage with and consult stakeholders when developing new processes, while ultimately providing well-researched, evidence-based recommendations to enhance the compliance and governance framework.
Proficient in handling a diverse range of tasks, meeting strict deadlines, and ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and best practice standards.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a complex workload effectively.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
Proven experience presenting to and working at the Senior Leadership Team level, with the ability to effectively communicate key insights and updates.
