Job summary The Community Childrens Team is based in Sandwell Special Schools, provides nursing care and support to children/young people and their families, with a wide range of complex health care needs including chronic and life limiting conditions.
Care is provided across the special schools, the child/young person's home and a variety of other settings.We are looking for a motivated, experienced nurse to join our team.You will be required to work hours per week to support the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job The successful applicant will work in partnership with the Community Childrens Team, multidisciplinary team, education staff and families to support the children on our caseload.The post holder will need to have excellent communication and decision making skills and be able to manage complex and difficult situations in a sensitive manner.As a band 6 CCN, you will be expected to offer expert advice and guidance to colleagues in the team.
In the absence of the team leader you will be required to deputise and take charge of the operational management of the team.
The applicant needs to be able to work autonomously and as part of the team.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential RN Child branch/RSCN NMC registration Degree in specialty where available or willing to work towards First level nurse ENB 998 (teaching and assessing in Clinical/D33/D32 Practice) or equivalent course place top secure Leadership course Experience Essential Relevant post registration experience Relevant experience in acute paediatric/community setting Relevant experience at band 5 or above Proven experience in the involvement in teaching and learning initiatives Experience of audit initiatives and other quality initiatives Able to demonstrate commitment to high quality patient care Experience and evidence in implementing change Evidence of implementing research based practice
