We have an opportunity to join a leading educational publisher as Commissioning Editor to work on their prestigious range of teaching and learning materials for International Schools around the globe.
This role offers a competitive salary and hybrid working (with 3 days per week in the company's London office).
As Commissioning Editor you will work to develop the Schools publishing portfolio (both in digital and print) which are pedagogically appropriate and meet market requirements, ensuring projects are delivered to schedule and to budget.
Responsibilities include: Commission and publish high-quality print and digital learning materials to meet market needs.
Manage complex projects with fixed budgets and deadlines.
Coordinate teams of authors, educational consultants, freelance project managers, editors, designers and illustrators.
Develop and maintain close working relationships with international colleagues, clients and officials.
Build and expand a network of professional contacts.
Create and maintain schedules.
Content edit and copy edit learning materials.
The successful Commissioning Editor will have experience in educational publishing from having previously developed digital and print products.
As well as the ability to build and manage successful relationships, the Commissioning Editor will have excellent attention to detail and strong project management skills.
Experience of producing learning materials for the K-12 International Schools or UK education sector, or prior classroom experience as a teacher, would be highly beneficial.
