Job summary An opportunity exists for a hour Colposcopy Secretary.
We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic secretary to support the Colposcopy Service at Leigh Infirmary.
Candidates should be suitably qualified in line with the person specification or be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role.
The service has complex pathways therefore accuracy and organisational skills are key.
The role will be hours over 5 days per week.
Candidates will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and hours of work will be discussed at interview.
Main duties of the job Support the Colposcopy Coordinator in providing a complete secretarial service including word processing, filing, photocopying and other administrative duties to support the Colposcopy Service Provide a point of contact for written and telephone queries from GPs, patients and other external agencies with regards to the Colposcopy Service To deal with patient queries in an efficient manner and deal with complaints where appropriate.
To receive and sort all patient results daily ensuring all results together with corresponding case sheets, are presented to the appropriate Clinician, actioned and subsequently filed.
Order and monitor adequate supply of stationery for department.

Job description Job responsibilities The post holder will demonstrate responsibility for: Provide general administrative duties to support the Colposcopy Service.
Book new colposcopy patients following set criteria, ensuring patients do not breach Trust waiting times and Screening Programme deadlines.
Cancel and rebook clinics as and when appropriate ensure all changes are in line with Colposcopy guideline.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date information is maintained on the colposcopy system including patient and appointment details.
When notified of Consultants leave take appropriate action with regards to cancelling / reducing clinics and re-evaluating/scheduling appointments where appropriate.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Good standard of education with literacy and numeracy skill demonstrated to GCSE level or equivalent standard Computer Literate Experience Essential Experience of working in an office environment Experience of working with a range of professionals as part of a team Experience of working with attention to detail Proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise tasks / multi task and work under pressure.
