Raffles & Fairmont Red Sea, positioned in the Kingdom's groundbreaking Red Sea Project, will provide visitors access to a nature-focused resort.
With 361 rooms, eleven distinct dining concepts, including overwater restaurants with views of the Red Sea and the mangroves, and a spa.

Job Description

Join our Pre-opening team
As Director, Engineering, you will be instrumental in orchestrating the handover and set up, from construction opening phase to the day to day operations of the hotel.
Provide leadership and direction for the operations of the Engineering, Landscaping & Security Teams with a focus on service and operational logistics.
Ensure strict compliance in accordance to Raffles & Fairmont standards and brand deliverables for the successful handover from construction to operations.Develop and implement the Preventative Maintenance Program for guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems while working closely with Operational DivisionsProvide the technical information for repair, maintenance, operation, modification, and replacement activity to ensure all jobs are being done correctlyOversee the landscaping of the Hotel and pool maintenanceParticipate in the preparation of CAPEX expenditures for Hotel as well as annual budget preparation for department and monthly forecasting and commentaryRecruit, schedule, complete payroll, performance reviews and the training & development, and engagement strategies all engineering team membersCoordinate and manage outside contractors, including sourcing of appropriate suppliers, preparation of purchase orders, facilitation of supplier negotiationsAssist in the monitoring of energy and water management programsMonitor, update and implement the fire safety plan, building evacuation and disaster recovery planCoordinate and complete all audits related to engineering and risk managementManage the hotel emergency response team in coordination with security and hotel managementActively participate in the Hotel's energy management, Occupational Health & Safety and environmental programsEnsure compliance with all city and state regulations and ordinancesPerform inspections of the property and monitor compliance with government and city regulations, to ensure all laws are followed and guests and employee safetyBalance operational, administrative and Colleague needsEnsure a clean and safe working environment, with continual emphasis on promoting colleague and guest health and safety.Assist in overall management responsibilities as neededFollow department policies, procedures and service standards Qualifications

Your experience and skills include: Previous pre-opening experience required within luxury industryPrevious leadership experience in the Engineering/Maintenance field, preferably in a pre-opening and operational luxury Hotel SettingProven supervision of various building maintenance and construction trades including work scheduling, project management, personnelTechnical knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and all areas of engineeringKnowledge in all local municipal codes and regulations as well as fire department requirements and building testing.Engineering degree/diploma and/or valid trade qualifications preferredComputer literate in Microsoft Window applications requiredService focused personality and passion for hospitalityProven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders, including contract teams, consultants and vendors.Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong networking skillsResults oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressureAbility to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance.
