It comprises of two acute hospitals The James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital Northallerton and a number of community Hospitals.The James Cook University Hospital is a Major Trauma Centre and provides a wide range of specialist services as well as District General Hospital services.We are looking to recruit a new Physiotherapy Assistant to work as part of the Physiotherapy Team on the Trauma and Orthopaedic Wards at The James Cook University Hospital.
You will assist the Physiotherapists in providing high quality treatment and rehabilitation to patients within the hospital.
We are looking for a friendly, helpful and motivated person, preferably with some experience of working with members of the public.
We are looking for an applicant with a keen interest in the rehabilitation of patients for which continued professional development will be actively encouraged.The appointed candidate must successfully undertake a pre-employment medical and have disclosure details available prior to starting work.The candidate may be expected to work flexibly across both hospital sites.

Main duties of the job To support the Physiotherapists in providing an efficient and effective Physiotherapy service within the framework of clinical governanceTo undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients on the Orthopaedic wards, assisting the Physiotherapy team in their area of work.This will involve treatments of delegated patients, including group work, according to needs of care plan or protocols.
There will also be administrative and equipment maintenance duties.This vacancy will close once sufficient applications have been received.
